A little redesign …

A little redesign …

Despite having grown up deep in the heart of the preppy, upper-class suburbs in the 70’s and 80’s (Ordinary People was shot in my high school my junior year), I had grown weary of the pink-and-green design. So voilĂ ! A new design — I’m still no webmaster since as you can see, this is one of the standard Typepad layouts, but I’m hoping that like re-arranging the furniture once in a while, re-designing the blog will help me come back to it more often and with renewed energy …

  1. Oh, I did like the pink, but one is certainly entitled to make changes! Is there anything you can do to make the page wider again, though? The center column with your actual post text is very narrow in Firefox.

  2. I know — once I figure out how to mess with the CSS settings, I’ll shrink the outer border and try to make the middle section wider — but I’m still trying to figure out how to do that … if any fellow Typepad readers know how, please ping me.

  3. I do hope that the new design does encourage you to post as I always find something to make me think when I read your posts and that is a gift.

As far as the layout is concerned I know when I have fiddled with the standard templates typepad provide me with it’s in the theme area click on general settings and you can change the width of the columns to other than the recommended pixels. For me this means I can post large photos straight into the post which suits me and tat meant changing both columns…hope this is of some use I am not at all technically adept that’s why typepad for me is truly wonderful:0)

  4. i really like the new colors. it’s softer on the eyes…and for me, since i’m on a dial up connection, i like to wait a week or two and catch up on someone’s blog so that means i’m sitting at the page for a long time and scrolling around. this new set up is a little easier on the eyes for me that way.
