What do you stuff in your suitcase?

If you’re like me, most travel involves investigation of grocery stores. The Guardian UK asks, “What do you stuff in your suitcase?”

Last trip I took was to Seattle — I returned with the following:

Question for you readers — what did you stuff in your suitcase last trip?

I'm a writer and editor based in Livingston, Montana. I moved to Livingston from the San Francisco Bay area in 2002 in search of affordable housing and a small community with a vibrant arts community. I found both. LivingSmall details my experience buying and renovating a house, building a garden, becoming a part of this community. It also chronicles my efforts to rebuild my life after the sudden death of my younger brother, and closest companion, Patrick in a car wreck.

  1. Oooh, this is a good meme. Amsterdam: good garden bulbs. Toulouse: piment d’espilette, chestnut honey, dry pink wine. Rome: boots. All of the above: local chocolate. (Hi, Charlotte, I have been reading for several years but never posted before. Your rolled Chinese breakfast is now my favorite work-at-home lunch.)

  2. Hi Maryn — I don’t know what makes me happier — someone taking the meme and running with it, or that you’re eating my favorite rolled breakfast (although now that I think of it, that probably also qualifies as something one brings home from one’s travels, doesn’t it?).
